Back to the mountains! After soaking up some desert sun, JT and I drove east into southwest Colorado. This area around Durango, Pagosa Springs, Lake City, Ouray, and Telluride is probably one of my favorite places to be in early fall. The aspens are full and bright. The clear and refreshing rivers run wide and clear through the rural farm lands. If we were going to own a ranch, this area is the place to be. We got caught in a rainstorm but managed to camp about 30 miles south of Telluride. The next morning we took a washed out and muddy National Forest Road to Telluride. It was amazing! It was like we were mudding in the middle of nowhere...just aspens, mountains and rivers all around us. We ate brunch in Telluride (picture of waterfall) and then continued our drive north. We stopped at Black Canyon of Gunnison National Park and took in some views of 2,000 foot incredible canyons. All in all, we will definetly be making another trip soon to southern Colorado. We passed way to many National Forest Jeep Roads to not! We are so glad that we got away and are blessed to have had a few days to leave the world behind.
I am a 27 year old free lance writer and personal trainer. I live in the beautiful mountains of central Colorado with my handsome husband, JT. We are expecting a new addition to our family the middle of September =)
