Capital Reef National Park and The Colorado River
So, after JT and I ran into some windy weather at Lake Powell, we decided to drive from Page, Arizona to a place called Lee's Ferry. This is where the Colorado River begins its journey down into the Grand Canyon. But the water at this point is a beautiful blue and green color. After getting out and exploring the river, we took the dogs on a hike down a beautiful stream and into a canyon called Paria Canyon. This is a canyon where you can hike along side the stream the entire journey. The hike actually begins some 47 miles to the north at the northern edge of the canyon. After an afternoon of hiking and playing with the dogs in the water, we decided to drive up around southern Utah and hit a few more national parks. We stopped by in Capital Reef National Park where we went on a hike through some narrow canyons and had lunch in a little spot called Fruita where there are fruit orchards and a lot of wildlife. All in all, we had a great trip!
