GREAT SAND DUNES NATIONAL PARK

Over Easter weekend, JT and I took the dogs and drove down to Great Sand Dunes National Park, just south of our house about 2 hours. It was gorgeous! The dunes are towering up next to the Sangre De Cristo Mountain Range...We camped and jeeped around the area with the dogs, who enjoyed running and playing in the soft sand. We decided to climb one section of the dunes, and it was a workout! Sophia loved running up and down the sand, while Shiloh sat lazily on a blanket just watching us all exhaust ourselves. On the way home we stopped off in Bonanza, an old mining town and looked around. We had such a good time getting down to a little lower elevation (6,000 ft) and camping. We love living so close to so many amazing places to hike, camp, and visit. Our next trip is to southern Utah, the Grand Canyon and southwestern Colorado in a few days. We are so blessed to live in such rugged, outdoor terrain.
