Lake Powell, Utah

Once we made our way up north from the Grand Canyon, we found a couple of beautiful camp sites at Lake Powell, one of my favorite places to visit. In college, I camped there a couple of times with friends and thought JT might like it as well. The first night was beautiful, though a little cool. Windy and cooler weather moved in the next few days, making camping on sand not so fun. But the dogs loved playing in the water, chasing ducks and getting all sandy. We hiked around a little. The water levels have fallen drastically at Lake Powell due to about a seven year drought that has plagued the southwest. So, unfortunately much of the lake's shores are shrinking. It was beautiful though as usual....
