The Road to Hana

On our second day in Maui we decided to drive up to the north shore and do a popular hike. Little did we know, but the "Road to Hana" is the curviest road in the United States! It took us nearly 3 hours to drive only 30 miles. The mostly single lane road curved through rain forests, near waterfalls, and along the jagged shoreline of Maui. It was a once in a life time drive! This road has also been named the most beautiful drive in America. And I would have to say it was when I could actually look out the window. When we finally made it to our destination, we stopped to take some pics along the gorgeous shore and then began our 4 mile hike up to a 400 ft. waterfall. Our hike was spectacular! It took us through thick rainforests and into bamboo forests. Maui is unlike any area I have ever travelled. It is heavenly! We loved it...except the drive.
