I'm not all that interested in the subject of photography. Once the picture is in the box, I'm not all that interested in what happens next. Hunters, after all, aren't cooks. ~Henri Cartier-Bresson

Photography has always been a means to relax and connect with nature for me...a form of art that has always been personal and meaningful. And yet, is not so much the end result of snapping pictures that I savor, but rather the moment in which I am able to take hold of a surreal moment in time itself. Chasing down sunsets, catching the light off a stream, hiking through aspens to capture the color reflected off the azure skies...it is all in the pursuit. And I savor this pursuit as a hunter savors the hunt itself. Fall in the mountains feels like God, himself, has hand picked a part of Heaven and released it onto the earth for a brief time. It is nearly unbelievable how beautiful this time of year is! So, the remaining month of September my blog will be dedicated to chasing down and capturing the brilliant colors of changing leaves, clear blue skies, snow capped mountains, and still unfrozen flowing streams. There is just something in the air this time of year...it's so hard to wrap one's senses around it....hopefully the pictures will help capture just a hint of what I am blessed to see, breath in, and feel every morning I wake up.
