Grand Canyon National Park
For a little spring break trip, JT and I decided to load up the dogs and our little Jeep Wrangler and make a go for the southwest. We camped the first night just outside of Pagosa Springs, Colorado on the Lower Piedra River, which is just beautiful. The next day we drove to the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. The views were spectacular. We set up camp in the Kaibab National Forest just south of the Grand Canyon. The temperatures dropped very low during the night, but we had a great camp site and a good fire going. During the days we explored National Forest Roads that took us into different areas just outside the park and up to the rim of the canyon inaccesible except via 4X drive vehicles. After dealing with some spring winds that weren't so warm, we packed and up and made plans to head for the sandy beaches of Lake Powell, Utah. All in all, the driving and cramped space of the jeep were all worth it!
